Thank you very much and I think for that particular post I did a rodset. The key for me is detangling thoroughly and I set with Giovanni Leave in conditioner and Shea Moisture’s curl enhancing smoothie w/vatika oil. Then I make sure it’s completely dry before I separate. I like to pick out my roots a bit too just so it’s even bigger. Hope that answers your question!
My weekend was very eventful and I’ve been doing a bit of car shopping for the past 2 weeks and this was just an ensemble I decided to capture. I don’t believe I got to snap pics of my jacket that I can’t seem to get enough wearing out of but this Saturday was just chilly enough to rock it for a little while. My thing this Spring is colored pants in pastels and bright colors (along with printed pants) and I went crazy snagging a few more pair while I was out shopping at Tar-Jay (Target) for more deep conditioner and leave in conditioner. Who’d have thunk they’d have the cutest little colorful casual pants for cheapie too! I ended up rocking “Diana Ross” (my wig) because my hair was drying from my Twist-n-curl session and didn’t want to take it down yet. Diana gets me through my drying sessions, when I don’t really have time to dry or need to be out and about. I need to go and snag another protective style wig but when I do, I’ll be sure to post! Until then, food is calling my name and hubby has it smelling TheBomb.Com in here! Laterz!
I never got to post my Stretched Braid-n-Curl I did on my hair last Sunday and I wanted to show how it came out. I adopted Naptural85’s Stretched Twist out Method and applied it to my transitioning hair and decided to try it braided instead. My ends aren’t natural so I figured I’d stretch it with the bobby pins and then, after it was mostly dry, roll the ends with the perm rods and hit the bed. I ended up rocking “Diana Ross” (my trusty wig) for the rest of the day, which is why the braids look a bit smashed! I took the rollers out and the braids down on last Monday and LOVED the results! I finally looked like I had a little bit of length and I immediately thought about Curly Nikki! I felt like I was resembling her a bit and knew I’d been missing out on these twist/braid outs! I tried a braid-n-curl early last year but hadn’t tried since and my hair has certainly grown a bit since that trial. Too bad by Tuesday, I was looking like a bushwick thanks to the rain and humidity and had to salvage it by throwing it up in a ponytail for the rest of the week. :( I will try the look again and next time, I’ll be sure to try some type of hold cream/gel so it can stay defined and last a little longer. All in all, a pretty good look and will keep you all updated, when I do it again!
